You can now purchase a VPS server running NVMe storage from First2Host. Based on the same equipment that our website runs on you can see a noticeable increase in speed even over SSD storage.

Our standard SSD devices are fast, over 50% faster than conventional SATA drives but these use SATA connections to pass information from the drive to your server. NVMe or, Non-Volatile Memory Host Controller Interface Specification (NVMHCIS) runs in PCIe slots and does not use SATA based technology which speeds up the passage of information.

NVMe support is currently lacking in the hosting industry. A lot of server BIOS programs do not yet have support for NVMe devices. Linux has supported NVMe devices since Kernel 3.1 and Windows since Windows 8. On selected services, we can now roll out this technology. We're going to be making it available on all of our Dedicated Servers and at the moment you can purchase a VPS running NVMe storage and Intel Xeon E3-1270v6 CPUs.
