Adding a security exception to Java for Java VNC access
There is an updated post about adding a security exception to Java located here
Java is used by billions and billions of devices around the world from your Microwave to your car stereo Java is working behind the scenes allowing you to complete tasks you take for granted every day. Unfortunately, when it comes to Internet-connected devices and Java this can mean some security issues, Idiots from malicious websites like to take advantage of Java and can use the application to infect your system with Malware. Always only use Java applications from trusted websites. Because of the security concerns Chrome now blocks Java and cannot be used so when accessing our VNC always use Internet Explorer.
You can access the VNC in two ways, from the client area or the virtual server control panel, whichever way you connect add all of the security exceptions below. First make sure you have the latest version of Java installed on your PC, navigate to Java.com and install/update. Now in the search bar for your PC type “java” and select the “Java Desktop” Application.
Next, select the “security” tab and click “edit site list”
Next get your Java VNC link from the client area, Login here and select the virtual server in question, at the bottom of the page click “CONSOLE” in the window that opens copy to URL from the address bar, add this URL to the security exceptions
Next also add the below links to the security exceptions to allow your PC to connect to the Java VNC
Click OK then Apply and close the Java control panel. Restart Internet Explorer and login to the client area again using Internet Explorer. When you now click “CONSOLE” from the client area or VNC from the virtual server control panel you will see the console for your virtual server and the current state it’s in. If you’re using a .ISO like Windows images or Linux Desktops you should have access to your desktop now. You can use the VNC to connect your server even if it’s in an offline state.
