How to update your VPS Server root password
If you want to update the root/admin password of your VPS server we offer two ways of achieving this. If you have lost your password then it’s possible to see the current root password from your client area. In this guide, we will show you how to get the current password of your server and how to update the password to your VPS server from the client area and the VPS control panel.
How to see the current root password of your VPS Server
To see the current password of your server and assuming you have not changed it since the server was delivered, log in to the client area. Select Services > My Services or click https://account.first2host.co.uk/clientarea.php?action=products
Select the Server that you want to see the current root password for. Scroll down the page until you see the section “Root Password” and click the eye symbol to the right. The last recorded root password we have for that server is revealed in the box.

Update VPS root password from client area
If you have lost the root password to your VPS server or you want to update the root password repeat the steps above but this time click the pencil icon. The system will set a new root password and this will be displayed in the root password box.

Update password from VPS control panel
It’s also possible to update your root password from the VPS control panel. Navigate to https://vps.first2host.co.uk and login with your username and password. Click the “manage” button next to the VPS that you would like to change the root password on then, at the bottom of the page click the “Root/Admin Password” tab. Click the change button to change the root password.
