How to stop cPanel restore whilst it is in progress

Sometimes you may want to stop a cPanel restore whilst it is in progress. For example, if you have a number of large cPanel backups for the same user and you start to restore the site from the wrong backup, using the abort feature inside the transfer tool of your cPanel Server will take a considerable amount of time to terminate. You can also achieve the same thing by removing the entries in the restore_queue.stor file and restarting the cpsrvd service.

Stop The cPanel Restore

Login to your server as the root user and first clear the queue file using the below command;

cat /dev/null > ; /var/cpanel/backups/queue/restore_queue.stor

Finally, restart the cPanel service and the restore will have been stopped.

/scripts/restartsrv_cpsrvd

Now you can restore the correct backup to your server by using the transfer tool or the command line.
